Heriz Carpets |
The village of Heriz is in the North of the province Aserbaidschan, about 60 miles east of Tabriz. The carpets on offer here are knotted from hand-combed wool which is dyed with plant extracts in excellent quality according to ancient models.
Heris carpets are known as extremely durable. There is a saying: “A Heriz carpets outlasts a generation,” and that is rather an understatement than an exaggeration. As a matter of fact 100-year-old Heris carpets can still be found and are very much sought-after by aficionados of Persian carpets in Europe and the USA.
It is recommendable to always have Heris carpets along with other assortments. Heris carpets find their buyers by themselves, as at least 30 % of all buyers of oriental carpets are connoisseurs (aficionados) and connoisseurs look out for Heris carpets. |
